Who qualifies as a Frontline user on Workplace?

Frontline employees are people whose primary role is to work directly with customers or the general public by providing services, support, or selling products. It also includes employees who are directly involved in the manufacturing and distribution of products.
To find out if an employee will qualify for a Workplace Frontline plan, ask yourself these questions:
Does the employee have an email address that isn't shared with others?
  • If they don't have their own email address then they will qualify for Workplace Frontline. If the employee does have their own email address, they will only qualify for Workplace Frontline if the following statements are true.
Is the employee deskless (or not using a device that is just for them) at least 50% of the time?
  • If so, this employee will qualify as a frontline worker.
Is the employee paid hourly?
  • If so, this employee will qualify as a frontline worker.
Other conditions
Finally, the employee must match one of these role descriptions:
  • Customer-facing worker (sales floor, receptionist, associate, etc) at any level including management.
  • Backstage worker (warehouse, courier, etc) at any level including management.
  • Utilities or public service worker (police officer, waste management officer, electrical line repair person, water department officer) at any level including management.
  • Medical care staff (nursing, doctor, facilities) at any level including management.
